Established in June, 2006 The Northwest Arkansas Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Community Center was founded in June of 2006 by two concerned citizens who saw a need that should be filled. Kay Massey and Lisa Rivers have put thousands of volunteer man hours and monetary contributions while taking the steps necessary to get a startup community center off the ground. They have done wonders and next to the impossible in their efforts to unite the community of Northwest Arkansas. Joined by Teresa Goodrich and John Miller within the first few months gave our organization the strength to rise above and reach out. We thank all who were involved in finding a need and creating a service the first few months of the Center's founding. We continue to strive to satisfy our mission statement and grow stronger for it everyday. We are growing rapidly and garnering widespread recognition, we are making a difference and uniting our community. Our founders are still involved with the Community Center in some way and continue to contribute to our mission statement. We accept donations, a portion of which will go into our building fund to help secure a physical location for the NWA GLBT Community Center to house our services. Donations may be mailed to NWA GLBT Community Center, PO Box 1161, Bentonville, AR 72712-1161. If you would like to get involved just fill out the registration for new membership online or to print and fill out. We will begin collecting membership dues starting in January 2007. Watch for details. If you just want to volunteer to provide a service, fill out a Volunteer Application online or to print and fill out. Donations are fully tax deductible in accordance with our 501(c)3 status. You will receive a receipt for all donations and services rendered. |
