Vice President's Weekly Report

July 20, 2007

It is with regret that the Board had to accept Jamie’s resignation.  She is needing to spend more time with family and no longer has the time to devote to the Board.  She is planning on remaining with the NWA  GLBT CC; so when you see her, wish her the best and thank her for all her work with the Board.

In different news, the Board has agreed to use the purple room at Tymythy’s Salon for an office and a storage facility.  Before anyone questions if this is personal gain, the room has been empty since I opened and has been a tax write off as unrented space.  With the NWA GLBT CC using the space, it will be donated space and is still a tax write off for the same amount that it is as unrented space.  So, no personal gain to me. The Center simply gets a much needed space to set up an office and have storage.  So, now, we need a desk or two, some file cabinets, preferably locking ones, and whatever else you might would put in an office.  So, if you have any office furniture just sitting around collecting dust, dust it off and bring it by Tymythy’s Salon for the NWA GLBT CC’s office space.

The last Birthday Social was a success with cup cakes in both chocolate and vanilla, punch, and rootbeer floats.  We watched Sunkissed and had a pretty good time.  Hopefully those of you who were here can make to the next one on August 15th.

This is probably way too late for most of you and I’m going to announce it here anyway.  Tonight, is the potluck social at Thomas’ in Bella Vista.  Please go to the forums or learn more about what is happening tonight at Thomas’.

And don’t forget the General Meeting, this Sunday at the Jones Center.  It starts at 2 Pm and is in room 114.  Hope to see you all there.

I think that is about all I have for right now.  Take care everyone.  See you all soon.

addendum: Due to Jamie's resignation, there is now a vacancy on the Board so if you are wanting to get involved and help the NWA GLBT CC now is your opportunity to see how it all works first hand.  Anyone interested in being on the Board and helping to make a difference in North West Arkansas, please contact a Board member at the General Meeting, at a Board Meeting or on-line.
